Getting Involved at Your School

Print

OzGREEN supports your school community working together to integrate sustainability thinking and action in the school curriculum and in daily activities throughout the school. There are many ways the school can engage students, teachers and parents to connect with the broader implications of living sustainably, ie financial, social and economic as well as environmental. We offer tailored educational and leadership programs, staff development, teacher training, parent and community engagement programs to provide consistent support for student learning and to enhance the impact of what students are doing. OzGREEN's dynamic process has been widely acknowledged as best practice, winning the Eureka Prize for Education for a Sustainable Environment and cited as a Best Practice Case Study by the Australian Association for Environmental Education.

Whole School Communities: OzGREEN engages your whole school community in sustainability education, measuring your eco footprint and discovering how to reduce it at home, at school and in the community. OzGREEN’s PlanetSAVERS program builds leadership capacity among students, teachers and parents to undertake action and inspire others to do the same. The PlanetSAVERS program can be run with one school community; schools are invited to work together to strengthen school leadership and sustainability engagement in the community.

Special school programs / school camps: OzGREEN designs special programs of 1 to 3 days for students at school or in an off-site camp.

Teachers / Facilitators: OzGREEN offers teacher and facilitator training [Teaching / Facilitating with the Heart] to provide teachers/facilitators with a deeper grasp of sustainability issues like climate change, as well as pedagogical training on how to engage students and others around these potentially complex and emotive issues.

Community Outreach: OzGREEN’s education and leadership programs support engagement of students in the broader community.
