PlanetSAVERS Program OzGREEN is seeking to accelerate transition to sustainability through ongoing engagement of whole communities in our sustainability in action process, as they become self-organising, resilient and sustainable. PlanetSAVERS can assist schools to engage their whole school community (students, teachers and parents). Step 1: Regional Training One day training for a core group of students, teachers and parents from each school (PlanetSAVERS Team). This group will be the mentors and managers of PlanetSAVERS within their own school community. Trainings will be conducted in regional clusters. Step 2: Support In-School Implementation OzGREEN will support implementation of PlanetSAVERS for the whole school community:
Step 3: Follow-Up OzGREEN will support the ongoing implementation of PlanetSAVERS and help to track and measure progress over time. OzGREEN’s online eco-footprinting tool makes it easy to track changes and collect data and stories) PlanetSAVERS in school program begins with a 2 hour workshop based on OzGREEN’s award winning sustainability in action process: Focus-Vision-Change-Action
OzGREEN Team OzGREEN Founders Colin and Sue Lennox draw from more than 30 years of experience and professional qualifications in environmental education, social enterprise and youth empowerment gained on the ground in urban and rural settings in Australia and internationally in India, East Timor, Papua New Guinea and Pakistan. They are supported by a team of passionate and skilled professionals, youth facilitators and youth-to-youth mentors, each of whom has a track record of successfully implementing their own life changes and projects. And - how it all fits together There are also opportunities for schools to participate in OzGREEN’s leadership development and professional development programs (Living Communities, Youth LEAD, Leading with the HEART and Teaching to Save the Planet). These can be conducted as special purpose in-school professional development and youth leadership development programs or for regional clusters of schools and communities. |
