The focus of OzGREEN's YOUth LEADing Australia congress is empowering young people to find their own solutions, having fun, informing active participation and strengthening leadership skills. We are offering OzGREEN facilitator training for those of you who would like to help run the congress in your area. Youth and adults are welcome. It will be facilitated by OzGREEN CEO & Co-founder Sue Lennox and a skilled team of OzGREEN facilitators. It begins on Monday 15th November at 9am and runs as a residential over 3 days, until 5pm 17th November in Sydney.

Leading with the Heart begins with a 2-day workshop that will enable you to: Strengthen your resilience to face up to global ecological challenges; Harness inner wisdom to create new ways of living and reduce ecological footprint; Build rational, emotional and spiritual intelligence; Learn how to listen deeply and question strategically; Create communities of change with connectivity from local to global. There are also opportunities to train as facilitators for OzGREEN's award winning sustainability leadership programs, become an OzGREEN Ambassador and volunteer with OzGREEN in Australia and internationally. Outcomes Passion, focus, drive and vision to be a change leader in your own life, community and beyond; Ideas and action to build life-sustaining communities; Strengthened resilience, emotional & spiritual intelligence and critical thinking skills; Creation of communities of change that are connected nationally and globally; Reduction of household ecological footprints (average 35% reduction in 6 months). Digital Media Training will develop your skills as a Youth Reporter for YOUth LEADing Australia. YOUth LEADing Australia will bring together youth across the nation over 3 days November 23-25 2010. Across the land, young people coming together in their own local communities, to talk, to plan, to connect, to take meaningful action! To change the world together! OzGREEN believes a key aspect to creating change is sharing stories of what is already happening, what is possible & what we are working for. For that reason the role of digital media is an important tool for youth to develop and use at YOUth LEADing Australia. You will learn to record and share stories of the event and the actions that happen afterwards. It begins on Tuesday 16th November at 9am and runs as a residential over 3 days, until 5pm 18th November in Sydney. The training will cover basic digital video production digital photography publishing multimedia content on the Internet and online communications strategies You will learn to report on local actions and issues as they unfold, publishing your multimedia reports on a website of nationwide local stories.

YOUth LEADing Australia 2010 is a national youth climate action congress that will run simultaneously in 12 locations around Australia. YOUth LEADing Australia will bring together thousands of young people to develop a shared voice, vision and action to tackle the biggest challenges of our times: climate change, food, energy and water. The congresses will be based on OzGREEN’s inspiring sustainability in action process that focuses on 3 ways to make a difference: • Personal responsibility to live sustainably; • Creating community change; • Connecting change makers nationally. YLA 2010 follows on from the inaugural YLA 2009 which brought together 500 young people aged 10-30 years, in 7 locations across Australia. Together participants will learn about sustainability challenges, meet with local sustainability champions and share success stories, challenges, actions and inspiration with each other in person and through digital media and social networking technology.
