The award-winning OzGREEN program Youth Leading the World (YLTW) is a bold initiative that equips young people with solution-focused tools to tackle sustainability challenges, generate a vision and innovate action plans.
WHAT IS YOUTH LEADING THE WORLD?
Youth Leading the World (YLTW) trains and supports local people to run the program in their own region. A two-day Facilitator Training Course can be attended in person, or online for interstate and international participants. The course teaches all the skills and techniques to prepare people for organising a congress.
Once the training is complete, coordinators organise and promote their own local congress to attract youth aged 12 - 25 years. The YLTW congress is run over three days and OzGREEN is available to support you as much or as little you choose.
WHY YOU SHOULD ATTEND?
- The congress promotes an understanding of climate change and sustainability;
- Develops motivation, confidence and community leadership;
- Supports local partnerships among council, schools and local business;
- Fosters connections with change-makers locally and globally.
YOUNG PEOPLE BECOME:
INFORMED: about sustainability challenges & sustainable living;
INNOVATORS: leading change;
INVOLVED: as citizen reporters, connected locally and globally.
