Turtle Guys Bushwalks

November 2022 | Never Never River, Glennifer, NSW, Australia

Learning about the critically endangered Bellinger River Snapping Turtle and how we can help.

We hosted two guided 'Turtle Guys' bushwalks, where Threatened Species Officers, Shane Ruming & Chris Ormond, Biodiversity Conservation Division, Department of Planning and Environment, shared their knowledge about the Bellingen River Snapping Turtle, the Saving our Species recovery turtle project, and the importance of riparian health and river health when it comes to threatened species recovery. Participants shared experiences from their walks and connected with each other over a catered morning tea in a beautiful natural setting.
