Kathleen Hannah

(she/her)

Co-CEO - Operations + Finance + Partnerships

  • Kathleen Hannah is an experienced educator, environmental advocate, and community leader with a deep commitment to regeneration, equity, and empowerment.

    Her passion for protecting the environment led her to complete a Bachelor of Science in Conservation Biology and Ecology, followed by an Honours degree researching the use of Chironomids as a biomonitoring tool for aquatic salinity.


    Driven by a desire to inspire future generations, Kathleen also completed a Diploma of Primary Education and has since taught across both primary and secondary school levels. She has had the privilege of living, working, and learning in several Indigenous communities across the Top End of Australia, including teaching in a remote Kimberley community and holding various roles at the Batchelor Institute of Indigenous Education.

    Kathleen’s commitment to global equity saw her establish and coordinate the Bellingen chapter of Days for Girls, a volunteer-based not-for-profit organisation providing handmade reusable menstrual kits to women and girls around the world.
    As Co-CEO of OzGREEN, Kathleen has led the development and delivery of impactful programs including the STEM Conference for Regional Girls and Rethink Waste. Her work supports young people and women to step into leadership, build skills in sustainability, science, and waste reduction, and lead grassroots change in their communities.

    Kathleen continues to bring together education, science, waste, and community to create a more connected, regenerative and resilient future.

Amy Denshire

  • Amy is driven by a deep belief in the power of communication to inspire change.

    With a background in Industrial Design, Teaching, and Community Development, she brings over 17 years' experience across communications, community development, stakeholder management, event management and design.

    Amy has played a key role in growing Bellingen Riverwatch into the largest water quality monitoring citizen science program in New South Wales and the largest macroinvertebrate monitoring citizen science program in Australia, and possibly the world..

    In 2024-25, she helped with the successful launch of the STEM Conference for Regional Girls, which connected over 100 young women and non-binary students with female STEM role models.

    Amy enjoys mentoring and providing opportunities for regional young people and regional women to step into leadership roles and bring community-strengthening projects to life.

    Amy oversees organisation-wide communications and strategy with a focus on being data- and impact-driven and on continual refinement.

    Amy loves creative problem-solving and is always looking for new ways to deepen OzGREEN’s impact.

Sue Lennox AM

2020 NSW Senior Australian of the Year

  • To Sue, OzGREEN is not a job – it is her strategic response to her deep concern for the environment and her vision to build a more sustainable, peaceful and equitable world. Sue, along with her husband Colin, has been the driving force behind OzGREEN since its’ inception.

    Sue is a social entrepreneur (Social Ventures Australia Big Boost 2002) and a former high school science teacher. She has played a key role in the design and delivery of OzGREEN programs since it began in 1992. These programs have directly involved over 50,000 people from urban, regional, remote, corporate and Indigenous communities in Australia, India, Papua New Guinea, East Timor, USA, Canada and Central America. Sue was named as one of the Most Influential People in Sydney in 2007 and 2020 NSW Senior Australian of the Year.

TRISH REINTEN

(she/her)

  • Trish is an experienced educator who is passionate about community resilience, environmental sustainability and citizen science.

    A Nambucca Valley local, Trish spent 17 years working as a HSIE teacher with the NSW Department of Education before embarking on a career transition into environmental science. She holds a degree in Arts and Education and is currently undertaking postgraduate studies in Environmental Science and Geography.

    In early 2025, Trish joined OzGREEN with the goal of building practical skills and gaining hands-on experience in environmental work. Since then she has contributed to a range of citizen science and community-led initiatives including Bellingen Riverwatch and Macro Muster. Her work involves monthly water quality testing, macroinvertebrate sampling for Macro Muster, and volunteer coordination. She enjoys helping to collect valuable data that supports conservation efforts for threatened species such as the Bellinger River Snapping Turtle.

    In addition to her fieldwork, Trish has played a role in delivering youth-focused events such as Riveryouth fest and the STEM Conference for Regional Girls. She strongly believes in and supports the program's mission to inspire and empower young people to pursue leadership roles and careers in sustainability, science, and caring for the environment.

    Through the mentorship provided by OzGREEN, Trish is developing her capabilities in citizen science, environmental communication, and program delivery. This support has been instrumental in helping her transition from classroom teaching to a new career in environmental science and community engagement.

  • Steven Denshire, an Indigenous man from the Saltwater area of Taree, lives in Kempsey NSW and hopes to have a positive impact in the Mid North Coast communities.

    Steve has worked as an emergency humanitarian working with Médecins Sans Frontières (Doctors without Borders) in many of the worlds remote locations and is a social justice advocate.

  • Steve is coordinating a youth workshop at Camp Creative in January 2026.

  • Zenzi Grace is the visionary behind The Great Fashion Stitch Up, a unique event celebrating sustainability, creativity and community connection through fashion.

    A graduate of East Sydney Fashion Design School, Zenzi began her career with the legendary Jenny Kee at her iconic Flamingo Park boutique in Sydney’s Strand Arcade. She went on to work as a colour coordinator for Jag Clothing under designer Adele Palmer and has crafted bespoke outfits and couture gowns for Grace Jones as well as costume work for film sets.

    Now based in regional NSW, Zenzi is the founder of Loving Spoonful Productions, bringing people together through hands-on workshops, upcycled fashion, and immersive events. Her projects, like the Great Curtain Challenge, turn textile waste into bold, one-of-a-kind creations and inspire people of all ages to engage with sustainable style.

    Through The Great Fashion Stitch Up, Zenzi shares her passion for slow fashion, community creativity, and reimagining waste as wearable art.

  • Happymess Studio is a creative wellbeing space based on the Mid North Coast, offering therapeutic art experiences, workshops, and community-based programs that support emotional expression, connection, and mental health. Founded and facilitated by Masters-trained art therapists, Happymess specialises in inclusive, trauma-informed practice for people of all ages and abilities.

    Recent projects include Postcards of Connection, an intergenerational art initiative bringing together young people and seniors—including those living with dementia—through storytelling, creative expression, and community exhibition.
