OzGREEN is an environmental charity founded in 1992 on a mission to create connected and resilient communities.
Based on the Mid North Coast of NSW, we design hands-on, place-based programs that bring people together through STEM, citizen science, nature, learning, movement and practical action.
Our programs build skills and confidence, strengthen wellbeing, create opportunities and give people practical ways to protect the environment and contribute to their community.
We work alongside community members, volunteers, schools, councils, scientists, government and local organisations, with a particular focus on regional communities experiencing disadvantage.
At the heart of our work is a simple idea:

Who we work with
Opportunity isn’t experienced equally.
We design programs around the people and communities where access, connection and opportunity can make the greatest difference.
Regional Communities
Opportunity shouldn’t depend on postcode.
Regional communities can have fewer opportunities to access specialist programs, networks, mentors and experiences. We bring more of these opportunities closer to home.
Adults 40+
Belonging matters. Especially when life changes.
Changing social networks, caring responsibilities and life transitions can increase isolation. Our programs create relaxed ways to meet people, move, learn and feel part of community.
Communities experiencing disadvantage
Removing barriers creates opportunity.
We design accessible programs that reduce financial, geographic and social barriers and make meaningful opportunities easier to reach.
Families + Schools
To create systemic change, we engage families and schools.
If we want to shift cultural norms and aspirations, we need to involve the people around young people too. Families and schools help reinforce learning, broaden possibilities and change conversations.
Women + Girls
Representation changes what feels possible.
Women and girls remain underrepresented in areas such as STEM. We create opportunities to build skills, confidence and networks, and connect with women already working in these fields.
Young People
Start early. Expand what feels possible.
Ideas about who belongs, what they are capable of and what their future could look like begin forming early. Early experiences can build confidence, curiosity and a stronger sense of possibility.

Meet Amy and Kathleen
OzGREEN’s Co-CEOs, Kathleen Hannah and Amy Denshire, bring a wealth of experience across environmental education, community development, community empowerment and citizen science, and a strong track record of delivering place-based programs that drive social, environmental and economic outcomes in regional communities.
Meet Sue Lennox
OzGREEN’s Co-Founder, Sue Lennox AM, was awarded Senior Australian of the Year for her work with OzGREEN.
Our Committee provides governance, strategic direction and oversight and brings expertise across education, environment, business, finance, community development and governance.
