hip hop

4pm-4.30pm | Main Stage

  • My names Jayess I’m a local rapper/artist from the Coffs coast area. My passion for music started at a very young age.

Music has been influencing, helping and inspiring me my whole life.

Seeing how artists can channel their energy into a song and create something that everyone can enjoy listening to and even relate and learn from it as well is what really pushed me to making my own music.

It was all a joke in the younger years but from as young as 10-11 I’d have raps written down in my school books and spit them at recess and lunch too my mates. It wasn’t until I was 21 where I finally realised I have to do something with this.

My mindset is that it’s never too late to do something you truely love doing. And when you have nothing to loose and everything to gain then what’s holding you back!

3pm-3.30pm | Main Stage

  • My name is Jahmann.

I have had the blessing to spend the majority of my upbringing on sacred Gumbaynggirr land in the small and lively town of Bellingen.

Having good role models and teachers in my life has encouraged me to stick it through with what I love which is music in its' many and various forms.

Spoken word/poetry/lyricism has, since its’ introduction in my life, stuck out to me as a profession that I am passionate in pursuing.

What motivates me is developing my capacity to spread my personal message in the hopes of connecting audiences and voicing what not everyone has the courage/ability to voice.

This may be more confidence, more courage or kindness to yourself. It may be more likeminded people in your life, more focus or more fun. Using mostly natural materials, you will be supported to create symbolic objects to take with you as a reminder of what you are calling in and to invite the qualities into your life.

In the recent YouthSpeak survey, one of the major requests from young people was for more activities, events and music festivals for young people. Together, let’s make this happen for this community’s young people!

We need people to help set, pack down and at workshops and tents.
