Walk. Eat. Connect.

Rest. Reflect. Restore.

Walk in nature. Share food. Connect with community.

Walk. Eat. Connect. is a free community wellbeing program bringing people together through guided bushwalks, shared healthy meals and informal conversations with local community organisations.

Across five guided walks, participants will spend time in nature, connect with others, enjoy a relaxed shared meal and learn about local groups, services and volunteering opportunities.

The program is designed to support active living, healthy eating, community connection, social and emotional wellbeing, and reduced social isolation.

The walks will take place across beautiful local forests and national parks on the Mid North Coast.

Each walk includes a guided bushwalk, a shared meal and short informal talks from local organisations or community groups about services, activities, volunteering opportunities and ways to get involved.

Places are limited to 30 participants per walk and registration is essential.

Walk suitability

Please note that these walks take place on natural bush tracks in State Forests and National Parks.

The tracks are not paved and may include uneven ground, rocks, roots, slopes, narrow sections, mud, creek crossings, steps or slippery surfaces. Walks will be graded 2 or 3 under the Australian Walking Track Grading System.

Participants need to be able to walk approximately 6–8km on uneven bush tracks at a gentle group pace. We are aiming for 2 hours of walking, including time for rest stops and the shared meal. Though this is a only a guide.

We want these walks to feel welcoming and inclusive, but because of the nature of the tracks, they may not be suitable for everyone. OzGREEN facilitators can provide general support and guidance during the walk, but we are not able to provide one-on-one mobility or personal care support.

If you are unsure whether a walk is suitable for you, please contact us before registering. We are happy to talk through the walk details and help you decide.
