Community creativity takes centre stage through the Rethink Waste Ideas Competition

Got a bright idea to reduce waste?

Enter it in the Rethink Waste competition for your chance to win one of ten fantastic prizes!

Thanks to the City of Coffs Harbour and Midwaste, OzGREEN invites schools, households, community groups and businesses to step forward with creative, practical ideas to reduce waste!

Open until 22 February 2026, the competition aims to showcase and celebrate clever waste-reduction solutions that everyday people can adopt - helping spark a more circular, sustainable local economy.

Submit your entry for the chance to win one of ten fantastic prizes, including an Eco-Tumbler (1st Prize), Darth Vader Compost Aerators (2nd Prize, 4 of), Worm farms (3rd Prize, 2 of), and Bokashi bins (4th Prize, 3 of). Ideas could be something you tried at home, at school or in the workplace.

Small ideas can have a big impact and this competition is designed to help them spread!

“We know the best ideas often come from lived experience - families, students, workplaces, and community groups who want to reduce waste but need simple, everyday solutions that work,” says Kathleen Hannah, Rethink Waste Program Manager, OzGREEN. “This competition helps elevate those ideas and inspire others to take action.”

Don’t overthink it. Just share what works :)
