Site K1

Site K1 is located on the Kalang River at Kalang Fire Trail, off Kalang Road, Kalang

Bellingen Riverwatch volunteers have tested this site for seven water quality parameters (Dissolved Oxygen, Water Temperature, Air Temperature, Electrical Conductivity, Available Phosphate, Turbidity, pH) from September 2017 to March 2023 and again in 2025. This site is no longer tested for water quality monthly.

Our macro volunteers have tested this site for macroinvertebrates at Muster 1, 4 to 9. Volunteers also tested this site for playtpus eDNA data in November 2022.

Thank you to those who have gathered the water quality data for site K1 - Suzie Steiner, Leah Carr, Catherine Jones and Deb Berodin, and to the roving volunteers that support them. Thank you also to the volunteers that have collected the macroinvertebrate and platypus eDNA data.

How to read our Water Quality Graphs

We interpret our water quality data by the method set out in this table to create bands of Very Good, Good, Fair, Poor and Very Poor.

Bellingen Riverwatch raw data is also available here.
