Site R1

Site R1 is located on the Rosewood River, upstream of the Bellinger River at bridge on Summervilles Road, Thora.

Bellingen Riverwatch volunteers have tested this site for seven water quality parameters (Dissolved Oxygen, Water Temperature, Air Temperature, Electrical Conductivity, Available Phosphate, Turbidity, pH) from September 2017 ongoingly. Volunteers continue to monitor water quality at this site monthly.

Our macro volunteers have tested this site for macroinvertebrates at Muster 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 & 9. Volunteers also tested this site for pesticides in July 2020.

Thank you to those who have gathered the data for site R1 - currently Peter French, and previously Nathan Garnett and Andrew McLagan, and to the roving volunteers that support them. Thank you also to the volunteers that have collected the pesticides data.

How to read our Water Quality Graphs

We interpret our water quality data by the method set out in this table to create bands of Very Good, Good, Fair, Poor and Very Poor.

Bellingen Riverwatch raw data is also available here.

R1 Water Quality Data

The graphs below show our full dataset for each parameter to date against the ‘Very Good’, ‘Good’, ‘Fair’, ‘Poor’ and ‘Very Poor’ bands (except water and site temperature). Click on the links to view an interactive graph where you can explore each datapoint. Also shown is the Bureau of Meteorology Rainfall data for the nearest station to this site (Kalang (Kooroowi (Sharabel))) 30.47° S 152.82° E, code 59146).
