Site B2

Site B2 is located on the Bellinger River at Cool Creek, Darkwood (in the main river).

Bellingen Riverwatch volunteers have tested this site for seven water quality parameters (Dissolved Oxygen, Water Temperature, Air Temperature, Electrical Conductivity, Available Phosphate, Turbidity, pH) from September 2017 ongoingly. Volunteers continue to monitor water quality at this site monthly.

Our macro volunteers have tested this site for macroinvertebrates at Muster 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5. Volunteers also tested this site for playtpus eDNA data in November 2022.

Thank you to those who have gathered the water quality data for site B2 - currently Fiona McMullin, and previously Sonya Kumar, and to the roving volunteers that support them. Thank you also to the volunteers that have collected the macroinvertebrate and platypus eDNA data.

How to read our Water Quality Graphs

We interpret our water quality data by the method set out in this table to create bands of Very Good, Good, Fair, Poor and Very Poor.

Bellingen Riverwatch raw data is also available here.

B2 Water Quality Data

The graphs below show our full dataset for each parameter to date against the ‘Very Good’, ‘Good’, ‘Fair’, ‘Poor’ and ‘Very Poor’ bands (except water and air temperature). Click on the links to view an interactive graph where you can explore each datapoint.

B2 Macroinvertebrate Data

B2 SIGNALT score was highest at Macro Muster 1. It has then dropped continuously for Muster 2, 3 and 4 and then has risen slightly at Muster 5. This site was not tested in Muster 8 due to road closures.
